This is sad news for the game of basketball. One thing you will never see me do is cheer or laugh at an athlete being injured. I suffered a torn meniscus in the 7th grade and it sucked not being able to play ball at that time....i was only kid. Luckily, I was young and blessed with great genetics...eventually recovered.

Although, I am not the biggest Kobe fan, I respect his dedication to the game. I remember getting Kobe's Adidas shoes over the Reebok Questions (Iversons) even though I loved A.I. when he was at Georgetown. I was a freshman in HS in '96. I can write much more about the journey of watching Kobe over the years but I will save that for another time
