I am ignorant. . Forgive me. .What is the difference between bond and bail. I thought they was basically the same thing. :ohhh:

Bail money is the money you give for bail and bond money is the money you give for bond.

Hope that clears everything up, daps and reps are appreciated

The problem is difficult.
On one hand, releasing someone on their own recognizance can lead to retaliation, fleeing, or a worse crime.
On the other hand, there's clearly a complete disregard for the freedom of people who are innocent.
Getting rid of the system completely is good, the next best thing would be bail based on income.

the income thing makes sense but in the whim of being arrested and taken to the magistrate or to intake you cant prove your true income. anyone can lie and say they make under $10,000.
that's why the next best option is unsecured bail and no secured bail.
the punishment still exists if the person doesn't show up to court, but the US and the philippines like to hold "bad" people hostage until proven guilty.
and they knew that low income individuals would be punished and have to deal with the limbo of pre trial, all the while contained and off the streets.

They misuse it with. A lot of times people get high as bonds like OP said and be forced to play ball with the D.A. cause they stuck. Certain spots are ridiculous. I got a $50,000 bond in Duval county on a dope charge on a first a offense. That shyt is high as fukk. Luckily I had bond money on deck:whew: but between the $5000 bond and the lawyer I paid 10 racks fighting that case. And that shyt took 9 months before I was sentenced so I would have been locked up for that whole time. They was offering 5 years and when you locked up fighting your case them deals be looking sweeter.

Bali money better than bond money, but nikkas ain't got bond money let alone bail money:pachaha:
Did you beat that charge breh? If you're able to talk about it :lupe:

Bail is the amount the judge sets. Say the judge sets the your bail at $1,000. If you pay $1,000 you can make bail. Once your case is over, you will get all of that money back.

If you don't have the full $1,000 than you can get a bond, which is gonna be 10% of the bail. So in this instance, you would only have to pay $100 to get out. You usually pay this to a bail bondsman. You don't get this money back.

You usually don't see people bail out. They usually bond out.

Naw I didn't beat it. I took a deal for a year and a day and 1 year probation. My lawyer advised against trial. Good thing I listened because I saw my same judge give a bytch 2 years for prostitution:merchant:

Plus real talk, I really didn't have a case. We was trying to get it thrown out on unlawful search, but after they pretty much held up the search (Riding a bicycle at night without a light) I really didn't have a choice but to take a deal. Shout out to my lawyer cause the state really had all the leverage. But he personally knew the prosecutor form school so she gave me the one year deal. I basically paid $5000 to a lawyer for his relationship with the prosecutor (which I didn't know he knew when I hired him) Oh yeah, lawyers buy you time too because I fought my case for damn near a year. My lawyer basically kept getting the shyt pushed back with bullshyt motions until the courts was finally like:whoa: I got to stack up bread and get everything straight before my sentence.
