I remember her from Attack The Show. She was one of the OG Curly Haired Goddesses.

I've never seen her on anything before the other day when i heard her music.

Then I saw that Prince snatched her up to be apart of his band. She has a great voice to boot.

What do you think is the perception of kinky hair within and outside the black community?

A beautiful thing has happened in the last few years. I’ve seen an amazing change in the way natural hair is viewed and promoted. I think it began with the Good Hair documentary by Chris Rock; and now, we see more celebrities like Viola Davis, Tamera Mowry and Lupita Nyong’o, just to name a few, showing off their natural hair. I think now more than ever there is a feeling of acceptance and beauty, and there are so many ways to embrace your curls. Before, I think there was a lack of resources and products. There were a lot of ideas being promoted, maybe not on purpose, that it’s better to have straight hair than to wear your hair naturally, no matter how harmful the process. But nothing is more beautiful that rocking your hair just the way it is.
she got her head on straight :wow:
