Rich Harrison was on Amerie's first album tho. Beyonce took the sauce. She even stole Amerie's esthetic from when she used to be an opener for Destiny's Child. These are facts. Amerie's style was a mix of DC go go. Which one of these chick's is from DC and which one is from Texas? Ok then. Lol. Anyway. 1 Thing is FARRRRRR better than Goodies. No contest.
Which song on Amerie's debut sounds like "Crazy In Love"? Amerie isn't even the first artist Rich produced for. He was on Mary J Blige's Mary album in 1999, which was possibly his first credit.
And for the record, this was Beyonce's first single as a solo artist, which has an albeit slower big band feel than "Crazy In Love", but the horns and the live element is still present:
This is like saying every artist who had Timbaland and Missy producing and writing for them took Aaliyah's sauce.
This whole Beyonce stole from Amerie debate is a whole other thread, but I feel like there's already threads on that. If we're going to talk about artists Beyonce stole from, let's talk about Kelis and Erykah Badu. Far more valid arguments there than there is with Amerie. That whole Amerie thing was always a reach that defied reason and logic. People just needed a reason as to why Amerie wasn't bigger and felt lkke she should've been on Beyonce's level. Had she been a 3X platinum certified artist the argument would've been how overrated Amerie is and how she can't sing.

I am gonna say Ciara.
Only because this was her debut single.
If you used why don't we fall in love.
That would be the best rnb debut and produced single of the era. Plus the best debut sonic landscape and direction of the entire era.
So amerie would easily win.
Yet Ciara for promise is the best song of that next era and there has been nuffin close since then. Just wannabe atmospheric entries.
