There's no better free service.
do you remember what it was like searching for something before Google search?Or looking up a music video before Youtube (I know they didn't event the tech)

There was yahoo and Altavista before Google.
So why aren't you using those now?
I know I remember that era very clearly, and they both sucked.

Why anybody would want Google glass is beyond me but I don't see it as a failure but a stepping stone.
I've always seen google glass as something industry will need e.g. a doctor being able to pull up a patients chart just by saying the name.

im an avid play music user though but other than search, gmail and android its been nothing but flops

And i think G+ is better than f.book.

Most of those are things no one's ever heard of. Stuff they've actually brought to market have been fine. (Aside from their attempts at social networking, they've been a constant failure there)
Microsoft is just fine. Their ecosystem is almost as extensive as Google's.(if not more so when including Xbox Music)
Plus, with the new CEO being a cloud guy, you can see new innovations coming out of the Microsoft Lab in the coming years to battle Google.
breh the reason you've never heard of them is because they flopped. i can clearly remember google wave, and google buzz. they both never made sense and flopped hard. and i knew google + was gonna be a failure from the start. stans were like "nah its pre installed on every android phone its gonna be huge!"
