I'll leave how I feel about how they went about development of the phone out of this thread.
I'm just not a big fan of the design, the two tone was a staple and they should've built on it. The phone is made out of glass and metal but looks completely plastic, we've seen how matte can look high end with old Xperias and the 11 Pro. There's only two cameras but the housing is about the same size as the 11 Pro with three. The one achilles heel to Pixel cameras is video, reading around if it's upgraded Google employees weren't able to explain how so I'm going to assume it's the same quality.
Variable refresh rate is cool considering the batteries are on the smaller side for 90hz, that smaller one is dud and I'm calling it now. The cheaper 3a has a bigger battery so I'm not sure what they were thinking.
The main selling points seem to be machine learning and assistant upgrades, techies will like that shyt. Not sure how you market that to masses. It's hundreds cheaper than the 11 Pros which is good but the iPhone 11 is hundreds cheaper than it and an even iPhone is on the way. Maybe sales aren't a huge deal when every Android sale is basically a sale for them too. They made double of what the Pixel 3 sold for just for launch, something tells me they're going to have plenty leftover after.
They even took away the unlimited cloud photo uploads they bundled with the Pixel 3.
I have a Nexus 6P. My original died last month then I got a replacement and that one had a battery drain issue.
I finally got a replacement for my replacement last week.
I'm ready for a new phone so I will get a Pixel 4. I'm just wondering if I should wait for black Friday or Christmas.
When do you guys think the first price drop will be? I have Google Fi service and they are offering $100 in credit for those who pre-order the phone.
Last year it was BF, which was also how long it took for them to get hardware/supply issues fixed.
