I actually was wondering wtf this was two months back. They been popping up randomly in different spots in midtown/downtown where i occasionally work.
They were standing outside the qt in midtown offering out gift cards for $5. Then they were also standing outside the north avenue and midtown marta(subway) stations with android phones.
I passed on doing it bc they gave a non descript answer about who the fukk they were.
I did watch them do it to a few folks. Process took like 3-4 minutes and u had to do like 6 circles around ur face with the cell phone from random angles, like above ur head, looking down on the phone, with the sun shining on ur face, in the shade etc...
Although I did see homeless ppl do it, most the ppl were regular folks just passing by. They had lines of ppl waiting to do it.
They approached mainly Mexicans and blacks, but did do an occasional white person. I chopped it up to Mexicans and blacks wanting to get more free stuff.
But now I know the real reason why
