Personally I am glad google is dropping it.

Google needs to stop trying to cover EVERYTHING and only focus on the things that matter. There are literally hundreds of readers that can do the same thing. Focus your attention on big things that nobody else can do.

A single developer can make a great reader app, music player, document viewer, and all that other shyt. Focus on improving Android/Chrome OS and everything else will take care of itself.

Docs is fairly important given the way it works over the internet and I hope they improve on it. Would be cool if they kept working on that :ehh:

I don't care about the music app tho. You can simply find an alternative to that in the play store.

Not an alternative that lets you upload 20,000 songs to the cloud for free. Most other apps like it make you pay for storage or just access a remote drive.

I see what you're saying but the Music app is basically the default player these days anyway and if it allows extra content past the low storage these phones and tablets have there's no reason why they shouldn't countinue to work on that project.

i agree with you here but i think the reader was within their core competencies. it's a major destination and a portal to the internet for many and they could of eat off the contextual ads on it (after all google is an internet advertising company), but like many other good products from them they just didn't put that much effort in marketing it and getting it across to the masses.

if you on Android check out flipboard, actually apple has it too . kinda similar to reader and it let's you customize how you want based on topics. you can even add social media on there and you can also add your reader feed too. i got that as one of my feeds. it's more user friendly than reader in that it's easier to navigate. atleast to me. just gotta know how to use it to your desire.
