Google really need to rebrand all their services.

Google is an Engineer driven company. While Engineers are smart they simply do not understand customer needs. Apple is successful because they are product focused. When you have product people running your company you focus on user behavior more so than bleeding edge technology.

That's what I'm saying. They need to add original names to their service.

Since they bought out SoundCloud
, they should rename Google Play Music, "SoundCloud". And they could add "by Google "at the end if they want everyone to know it's their. SoundCloud way more catchy.

Google Play Movies should just merge with YouTube. It's in the same category.

Anything but just books would be an upgrade.

Cortana, siri, lezi, bixby all way better name than lame ass Google Assistant. I almost want to get a Window phone off the strength of the name Cortana alone.

I swear all these services is just Google's way of promoting their search engine. Rather their primary mission of app/services actual service.
FAKE NEWS.

I don't care what anyone else uses, I'll always use Google Play Music It has my entire collection on there for free in the cloud

If you go to the booth, Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal is name drop in every streaming service discussion with no mentions of Google Play Music which IMO is better than all the rest just off YouTube Red alone.

I will never understand why Google spent years of building the Android brand to only ditch it for possibly the least catchiest name anyone could come up with "Google Play". That sounds like an instruction to go to Google.com and search for/Google "play _____", and not an actual app/program/. This goes for everything Google play movies, Google play books, Google play games, Google play music; they all need to be renamed. I mean I get it, Google is a strong recognize brand but most people recognize it as search engine and nothing else.
I agree man....been using google play for a min now strictly just uploading my music but now I pay for service
youtube red...no ads in youtube, youtube background play shyt is piff.

nobody talks about this shyt tho and it gets no kind of exclusives like apple and tidal but fukk I love it

was telling my boy about it but he never heard of it

Disregard, Google was about to buy out SoundCloud.

They're trying, but still failing. Google messenger/hangouts/duo/allo, same with their gmail/inbox apps. They should've bought WhatsApp. They're never going to gain traction in messaging apps now, imo unless they integrate Internet messaging between Android devices to such a level that it's ubiquitous like imessage.

It's like they're pushing for convergence, and rightly so, but they are presuming the general public understand wha gwan even with all the Google play subtitles.

Amazon aren't much better

For free? And it shows up in google music?
exactly that. I have wayyyy too much music that Spotify, Google, Tidal or even YouTube might not have, so being able to upload those tracks alongside any the ones they might have make Google a no brainer to me :ld:.

What it really comes down to is all these streaming services charges the same 10$ per month. Google music gives u the best bang for your buck because with that same 10 you also get youtube red(ad free youtube and the ability to listen to videos while your screen is off on mobile and being able to download videos directly to mobile and watch them offline)

Google music also lets you upload your own music and it instantly syncs across all devices. So the small number of releases that are apple/tidal exclusive just grab that zippy and upload it yourself!!

Google music also syncs up with google voice for voice recognition :wow:

Once that soundcloud integration hits google music it's a wrap :wow: You can already save soundcloud tracks directly to your google drive.

:ehh:

Do you have to have a google account to sign up?

Sounds like a bit of a non-issue, but I transitioned from my google accounts years ago (to Outlook) and dont feel like opening/managing another account.

Do you actually have to upload all of your tracks, or do they have some sort of scan and match system? I.e they take a look at what songs you have in your music folder and automatically add them to the cloud without having to upload.

you can drag and drop by file or folder and you can also set specific folders to automatically be uploaded

I think you can sign up w/ your current email.

the free version of Play music isn't too bad either...you can still upload your own shyt to stream, the # of files threshold is a little lower than the paid service though.

10/a month is well worth it though.

Well yea u need a gmail. Your gmail is what u login for every google service u use.

You can just just drag and drop any file/folder u want and it will upload. I do believe u can set it to automatically add new files in a specific folder as well.

I got it on day one. 8/months for me :banderas:

Same here. Still paying $7.99 a month. :banderas:

Although I admit I was tempted to switch to Spotify twice when i tried the free trial for a month because of the Discover feature and public shared playlists. That's one thing I wish Google Music improves on.
