Just finished the first episode of The Righteous Gemstones.
Show s great. Hilarious.
Some would say even a sacreligious mockery of the faith, but with Kanye making inroads into gospel this week, this song is pretty great to hear.
That last scene in 1st episode, which is brutal, had this track on it.
I thought it was an original piece, but its a 1985 gospel piece by The Joubert Singers called "Stand on the Word". Reading the comments it was featured in Dear White People, a movie called Polissee, something called The Paradise Garage, and a Lady Gaga Song
Fan made video.
Should be sampled or remixed for some rap lyrics. This a gospel jam by itself though.
