It's a shame how so many Black people these days refuse to address the racism here, and everywhere else for that matter...but I think it's worst down here. They rather turn a blind eye to people who complain, until somebody writes "Darky", or some other racial slur on their receipt, when it should have never gotten to that point. I don't even eat out with friends or family anymore, because of this. Our people try to make us seem like we're the problem instead. I never seen anything like it. And we get bad service from our own as well. I'm through with it.
I do have a female cousin we grew up with who sees things the way I do when it comes to this. But everybody rather focus on the one or two times she went overboard, than to focus on the overall problem with racism, and poor customer service from our own. I know we're getting a little older, but this definitely don't feel like the same generation I grew up with, when it comes to the bs with some of these restaurants.
There were three incidents down here that made me decide I've had enough, and they all occurred right around the Holiday Season. I'm gonna name only one, since this incident will take the shortest time to explain. It was when I saw this pan of baked fish, that had been sitting out at the bar too long on this particular day, and the fish began to taste stale. I told this older woman who was standing next to me about it, who was kinda stalking me, lol. Anyway, when she saw the Hispanic waitress come out, she asked her if she could bring us some fresh fish. But this waitress had the audacity to remove the pan of stale fish from the slot, put the pan of fresh fish in the slot, and pile back on the pan of stale fish. I asked the older sister if she saw what this waitress just did...she wound up defending the waitress. I told somebody about this over the phone a week later...and this person told me they would have dug under the stale fish, and got a piece of fresh fish. I had to get of the phone after hearing that response. It took a friend of mine, who went to culinary school, to tell me that was against food contamination laws.
The two incidents after this wound up being the straw that broke the camels back. Other that the safety issues, these last two incidents were even worst. Like I said, that's when I decided I've had enough
