can i install this on a usb stick/sd card? only running on 16gbs on board--

i believe you can, but not 100% sure. but I'd just install it to the ssd, its not going to take up a lot of room and it would run much better. its easy to wipe clean if you decide you dont want it or it takes up too much room.

Yeah for the most part. I tried to use it to stream a plex media server but it didn't work. It probably wouldn't have been able to handle HQ video anyways but I've been able to run everything else

Installing Linux on these things never made sense to me. Not only does it cut the battery life in half you could have bought a windows pc and did the same thing with less of a hassle and more space.

I get 6 hours battery life and mine came with 300gb. Got it for $150. Hard to beat the price

Yeah on the one's without an SSD it was probably a good idea. These newer ones with the smaller SSD don't really seem to be necessary to me.
Chrome OS can pretty much do anything people need in a cheap laptop on and offline.

Yeah the small ssd was never an option for me. If you're just doing browsing then chrome OS is fine. OP asked for full power which is pretty limited unless you run Linux imo.
