My step pops goes to auctions so he won a storage unit and they had this box full of old cassette tapes in it. Years ago, he gave it to me and I was like, "Yo this is a shoe box of old school hip-hop treasure right here. I hit the damn lottery.:ohhh:"

Some of you probably like,"nikka this just a box of old hip-hop shyt. Ain't nothing special about it.:what:"

This is history breh. Pieces of history with different sounds, influences, and words put together by different music artists and producers who made hip-hop what it was back before the 2000s. This is an era we will never be able to go back to, so I just wanted to share this magical box with the coli. :jawalrus:

Mostly the reason why is that this is golden history to me. I listen to some hip-hop, funk, R&B, etc late, but I wanna catch up on the rest of the past of hip-hop/funk/jazz, R&B. Thanks to a few posters who post old hip-hop music and videos in RT (@stomachlines @Otis Kane Jr. @Tenchi® @Esco @King Napz and others:salute:).
So I bought this from amazon

and with it, I'm able to listen to the tapes naturally like back then, and record the tapes into MP3s on my PC. :ohlawd::whew:

Here's a sample of some of the tapes that are in the box...

I've been thinking about buying that same cassette player. How is the quality?

It's really decent from what I can tell. I don't know why they got mega bass on it, there''s no button for it, but the quality is as good as only the tape's condition. If you download the music file in OP, the right channels be muffled sometimes while the left channel is much clear as it can get. I only used two tapes, but they sound good when I used it in the car.

Too bad all the covers weren’t there as well. Should def rip them all and share with your colo brehs. There might be a gem or 2 in there, sons only released on tape and all that. Damn I wish I didn’t get rid of all my tapes :mjcry:
