Have no idea how dude plans to end the books, it could definitely be a let down.

But as far as fantasy and building an intricately fake reality I vouch for this show. What’s so great is they can tell like infinite stories from the past and keep going further and further in the future even after Martin says “THE END”. It's that deep.

You sound like you are a reader of the books...I'm not.
So while I agree..they have a massive amount of potential material to work from, which is great. Its hard to tell clear stories and develop meaningful characters for TV when there are so many disjointed stories.

I feel like the characters are becoming more and more disposable as they build on the whole Westeros mythology. Some people may not care, but I feel like that hurts the show and makes it feel like I'm watching The Young and The Restless...
