An umbrella policy ($1m per occurrence)...She was responsible and was also cited for running a red light thru an intersection. She hit someone going thru the intersection causing me to get hit head on by the car she hit. I got a mild concussion, cervical sprain, and shoulder sprain. Just completed my first month of chiropractic therapy (3 times a week), but I still got a month and a half left of it. Gotta go to “Concussion Therapy” soon too. I wasn’t able to go back to my seasonal job (which I depended on) due to my flexibility of schedule (work/both therapies). I got a lawyer already, but from the looks of it I feel this gonna take hella long to settle. In the meanwhile I gotta make ends meet, but can’t find a “decent” job due to me having to go to therapy all the time. I guess my question is what do y’all think ima get paid out? Is this process worth waiting to see through (cause I coulda been working)?Have any of y’all ever been in a wreck and got paid out? Share your story and also input about my situation if possible ...:feedme:

usually they only pay you for missing work if the doctor excuses you from work. you might have to schedule therapy around work or you just losing wages for no reason. especially since those places are open after hours, etc lol

but yeah you should still get paid at least a few thousand for the sprains. no way you getting a million for soft tissue injuries. but depending on the concussion (how long it took to heal, did you actually lose consciousness, cost of treatment) it could increase the settlement amount by a lot.

good luck breh

Do you know the coverage of her policy when it comes to liability?

I work in claims but not personal injury

I feel you...I wasn’t working at the time of the accident. My seasonal job started about 2 weeks after the accident (7pm-7am, 6 days a week). The neurologist told me it was a “minor concussion”. The big issue at hand though is that it triggered my anxiety to flare up baaad. I had that shyt under control (mantras, meditation etc..) but my anxiety is even worse than before. That’s my biggest concern cause it took me about 2 years to atleast somewhat be in “control” of my anxiety. Good look on the well wishes and the reply though brobro :salute:

Well she has high numbers (Umbrella Policy). My lawyer had to get a PI to find that out cause her insurance wasn’t being cooperative. I know I ain’t gonna get the whole M (due to injuries not being severe enough and cause she hit someone else) I’m just trying to get a ballpark..

oh yeah. hopefully you have a paper trail of all that. like did you seek therapy for anxiety where you can prove it was an issue...and prove that it has flared up due to the accident (tell your doctor about it). the thing about claims is they want to save money but as long as you have paperwork to justify them paying you, it usually works out in reasonable amount of time.

I got receipts for the 2 years of therapy I had to go through and the alprazolam they put me on. I was clean off that bullshyt for 2 years and functioning like, what I would call, a normal person up until the accident. My primary put me on Lexapro due to the flare up after the accident so now I’m feelin like a god damn corpse again
