Got My Ancestry.com DNA Analysis Back, I'm a 1/3 CAC?!?!?

i figured the European percentage would be kind of high....but damn. my grandmother's side is extremely lightskinned. the last white ancestor on my mom's side died in 1791(extensive geneology research done by a cousin).

my ancestors on my mom's side was doing some heavy colorism when selecting their mates....:francis:



for all you know they might not have had any choice in the matter...i.e slavery ..... not trying to be slick ... just saying

Are you happier now?

I'm happier knowing any kind of information about my African roots. I already knew my CAC side was from Great Britain. My genealogy was traced backed to slavery times, but even those records only say "slave child" or "mulatto woman." No real information about where they were from.

Know I at least know I have roots in Nigeria and South Africa.

I meant my relatives since slavery ended. its kind of an unspoken secret, but there were many light skinned families who would discourage their children from mating with someone darker than them...the whole paper bag thing
