Got my results from 23andMe and I am Neanderthal

I also found out that I have large amount of white blood in me from the I1* is a subgroup of I1. Kind of shocking because I am African American.

I am related to Warren Buffet/Jimmy Buffet and Leo Tolstoy.

Maternal line is L3b1b is a subgroup of L3b which is West African.

Very Shocked by my results.

Don't know still trying to learn this DNA genetic crap. The main DNA lineage is the one listed in the first post. The website is amazing for only 100. I have received my health risks, drug responses and Hereditary traits.

I thought my mother side would have more European because I had consecutive grandmothers who were half white from slavery with Irish names. Father side don't know that much about but his Grandfather is Pure Indian.

What is your Ancestry Composition looking like? Your haplogroup only accounts for 1 or 2% of your DNA. Meaning, you could have a European haplogroup and be 100% European all the way to 0% European (because you only retain DNA but so many generations due to recombination).

Without knowing the exact subgroup, it's hard tell where exactly your Neanderthal dna came from and only assumptions can be made. That particular strand could have came from Scandinavia, Eastern or Southern Europe. If you are related to Leo Tolstoy, then your I dna probably came from one of the eastern block countries but that isn't absolute either.

As for the African DNA.... Three places where that strain is abundant.... Georgia(USA) Burkina Faso and the Senegambian region of West Africa.

u really not related to Buffet just cause yall got the same paternal haplogroup...we are all "related" if u wanna go that route......they haven't given u your ancestry composition yet? that breaks down ur african/european/asian percentages

Unfortuantely no. It doesn't break down African or Asian yet. Only European. Probably cause their customer base is majority European. But if more people of African descent purchase a DNA test, maybe they will put more work into our ancestry. There are free 3rd party tools that u can use with your 23andme results tho to see an African breakdown. 23andme is a good product for 100 bucks. I did it for free tho
