Every company takes from other companies.

Apple did get caught slowing down devices but not for the reason you stated. It was because when your battery goes below 80% it can’t handle the default clock speed of the processor. So the phones would shut off at 20-30%. Android phones do this as well. To combat that, Apple decided to lower the clock speed. When you replace the battery the clock speed goes back to normal. The problem is communication. Apple should have told their customers that replacing the battery will fix the issue. So you’re kind of right. I know I brought a X when my 6s started slowing down randomly.

You don’t have to buy Apples accessories. They have the largest third party accessories by miles.

I used to own Android phones between 2010-2014. I had the Samsung Moment, HTC Hero, Samsung Nexus S, HTC EVO Shift, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I was always in search of a device that didnt slow down on me randomly (without battery problems), didn’t need to be rooted to get the latest update, and reliability. I just wasn’t getting that with Android. But you know where you was getting that from? Apple. Even in 2020 things aren’t that much different. The Samsung Galaxy S8 isn’t even getting Android 10. shyt is sad. How can I support a company if they aren’t going to support me.

The ones that aren’t getting updated so you have to rely on the community to update the phone for the manufacture.

Also, just because you don’t understand battery chemistry doesn’t mean what I said wasn’t true.

I'd say iPhones were objectively better up until the Galaxy s5. S6 was on par imo. Everything after that is on-par or android flagships offering marginal value, not necessarily worth the switch if you're locked in their eco-system. I'm on an s10+ looking for an excuse to switch to iOS, but apple's small fukkery here and there is infuriating. How can you not include a fast charger at that price point? Plus Samsung flagships tend to have better/larger screens which is a bonus for me.

Assuming OP lives in the US. They might as well use sms/mms. None of her friends downloading that damn app.

This blows my mind. I went travelling last year and ended up meeting a lot of Americans on road. Very few had WhatsApp and they were all 'serious' backpackers. Meanwhile in parts of Europe 'app' from WhatsApp is synonymous to text/message.

Explains the iOS grip on the US market though.

Texting is included in all plans here and have been for a while, while it is my understanding that in Europe texting cost per message. That opened to door for alternative messaging apps to take hold.

iOS has a grip on the U.S. market for a multitude of reasons. Better support, iMessage, “status”, accessories, smoothness, etc. Many people here just want simplicity and iOS offers that.

So i currently have a pixel 2 and have my own personal server with music, I download my music from my server onto my phone, are you saying you can't do that with iphone? Is their a workaround?
Yeah it may have changed but in the past I remember having to use iTunes concert the mp3 files then send them. Not sure how it is now. Probably and iPhone user could say for sure.

Thats all well and fine

Androids are still better devices

Apple got caught stealing from Droid OS multiple times and lost multiple court cases over it

Also, apple goes out of their way to prevent their devices from being used to their full potential. They purposely slow down their old phones to force you to get their newer phones but they rarely add anything to their newer phones

They charge you for every little accessory. They create accessories just to charge you for

I will say that droids are for more tech savy people because there are less training wheels and safeties on the phone itself, meaning theres a lot more that can be done on them

Ok..

Good for androids but I still prefer iPhones :yeshrug:
