I've been mulling over a tablet or laptop. Makes it easier to surf/post while watching in my living room. If I got one it'd probably be one of those $120 tablets from China

A few reasons really:
Nothing on a tablet you cant do on a phone
Increase of phone sizes making it better for reading and watching videos
Another device to carry, bearing in mind point 1
Once you have a tablet the urge/need to get a new 1 is not that great, this is reflected in slow growth rate and sales going down
At most it ends up being a device you may use whilst on Sofa

I bought a Tab S for $150 a few weeks ago to hold my ebooks.
None of these reasons apply to me:
Nothing on a tablet you cant do on a phone Maybe comparing 7" tablets to 6" phones, yeah - although 10-13" tablet apps are a whole new world compared to their phone counterparts.
Increase of phone sizes making it better for reading and watching videos Personally I don't like these big ass phones, even if you have one, still nothing compares to watching / reading on at least two times larger screen size.
Another device to carry, bearing in mind point 1 I don't really "carry" it, it rides in the car with me.

At most it ends up being a device you may use whilst on Sofa I also use it at work as a 4th monitor, but yeah, nothing beats it as a sofa/bed/toilet device. I hardly ever use my phone anymore because of it.
