) she seems to be discussing "the west" as not a geographical concept, it's more so a perspective/culture/socio-political concept. there are places like australia that are in the east that some people consider western for example. its probably a bit of "the west" in every continent and like you described, every culture.tldr: oppression is not on you, its in you.
