Ignorant af, but I’ll let you cook. Ima willing to bet that you and everyone who liked that shyt ain’t never been to a war torn/3rd world country let alone out of the country. If you have it’s pretty obvious why they come here. If you haven’t than I get the ignorance.

The fact that people is this thread are responding defensively or as if they were personally attacked is bizarre. Did we not learn anything from the "love it or leave it" rhetoric of the 20th century in response to advocating for civil rights? Are these actually black people posting?

reminds me of the "We should improve society somewhat" comic

The problem is, her criticism, along with most other criticisms from this camp, isn't meant to improve society. Her words are just a passing "fukk you" about the society she is a part of. And what else can she offer with a surface level understanding of "the west" and how things work in general. Again, just an unsophisticated mind.

When people complain about systems (political or other), I ask them to coordinate getting a single plane off the ground at LAX. If you tasked the average person with making sure a plane gets from LAX to NYC on time, they would completely blunder it. Not only would they blunder it, they wouldn't take responsibility for it, they would look for someone else to help them, and they would make excuses about why it doesn't work.

The complexity of getting a single plane off the ground would completely tax most people. The fukk do I care what they think about complex systems and ideas of scale then?

you could claim the west has lost its core way, but the argument it never had thoes values carries no weight whatsoever.
The fact that as a woman she can say the things she said now is purely because of the western values brought and spread to the world

matriarchal societies have existed long before western colonialism.

Grown azz woman can’t see that fact is embarrassing.

You have all these people that grew up in totalitarian countries and faced oppression trying to migrate to western countries or be apart of western organizations ( NATO/European Union ). Objectively speaking it’s ok to criticize western society, but to act like it’s not better than the alternatives is childish
This is false.

Most people who move to the West do it because it's richer not because they find it morally superior.

The main engine of immigration is economic, not admiration for the 'values' of a society.

That's why damn Russia is the second or the third destination n the world for immigration.

You won't tell me Russia is the best second country in the world.

Kind of adding on to a previous post.

There is nothing wrong with expressing a deep ambivalence about your relative comfort compared to others. If I'm staying on the premiere floor of a luxury hotel in Bangkok, it's completely understandable to feel ambivalence and discomfort when I see a Cambodian child begging for money on the street. It would be insane not to feel that way.

But there is a humility to that not possessed by the "AirPods cost $159" gang. A humility that requires admitting you are not excluded from it all.

The "AirPods cost $159" gang believes themselves morally superior to the rest of us while occupying the same relative positions of "privilege" and wealth. These people talk a big game but are really all hat and no cattle. I'm fine with that, but please shut the fukk up about "the west."

It's like when AJ from the Sopranos was jogging to get in shape for the military only to be given a ride home and talked out of it by his father. Took about a minute for him to change his mind.

Well yeah it’s call capitalism… which has no moral center

Is this a true statement? Are there other "systems," in practice, which offer a better moral center (it's difficult to phrase this question because the idea of a moral center seems ludicrous and difficult to define)?

Maybe I should actually ask, what is a moral center? I'm picturing like the creamy center a of delicious cookie when you use a phrase like that.

The only system with any shred of a motal center would be the Utopia that Marx wrote about, and that destination lies about 7 miles south of Delusionville and 4 miles north of Imaginationland.
