Help me keep up too....who said the deficit and deficit spending was never a problem until Republicans started doing it while cutting taxes?
HL suggested/insinuated often throughout the Obama years that the debt/deficit spending wasn't a big deal...
I'm just want to be clear that we are in fact doing a 180 and making the deficit a big fukking deal?

That's nice and all but in the real world, large countries and even multibillion dollar companies don't operate like that. Many companies are ALWAYS in debt. Debt can be a good thing.
Even though Trump is an idiot, deficit spending doesn't crash economies

At the end of the day they're just numbers on screens, I wouldn't worry about it.
It's no big deal, just a scare tactic politicians use

There's a lot of more important issues than the national debt
unmanageable how? we're talking about the united states aren't we? the biggest economy in the world? we're not defaulting... ever. the entire world depends on us. It's mostly a scare tactic that these retard republicans embrace because they know they can't win in november. You got to run these big deficits in the interim to get out of this slowing economy. You know cutting spending is just going to hurt jobs, right?

Obama was handed an economy in the shyt tank. Hence infrastructure spending (aka. deficit spending) was needed. Trump was handed an economy in terrific shape and had a 500B deficit. There was no reason for tax cuts to happen or to blow up the deficit back to 1T.

But you know all that already. So why are you acting dense? :what:

It's almost pointless to explain this to you because it won't stick but the when is more important. Passing fiscal austerity measures during an economic downturn is as stupid as passing fiscal stimulus during a healthy economic expansion. There's a time for leaning one way or the other and there is no inherent hypocrisy between pushing for stimulus at one time and saying it is poor policy at another point in time. I'm sure you know all about the concept Im referring to though.

Fair enough... I guess those times just happened to fall along partisan lines. ok during Obama/bad during Trump.
No argument from me.

I disagree here...
As I stated in another thread a solid employment market in my opinion, is essential for forming successful families and easing high levels of social anxiety and distrust.
Growing the economy and dropping unemployment is a good thing whether it pay for itself or not... increasing military spending and not cutting spending elsewhere is, in my opinion the issue.
