I need Dems to start using the words hostage and terrorist a lot more this week. Trump is pulling this stunt and hoping to jam the Sunday shows with his spokespeople trying to make him look reasonable.

The Dems need to get their messaging out and keep it in the zeitgest.

The contents of the deal don't matter to me. The focus is basically on the wall and the workers.

My question was relating to Trump changing the narrative (or trying to) by claiming that he tried to meet the Dems in the middle and they still wouldn't budge.

Does that change perception among people watching the spectacle? Bearing in mind folks really aren't informed about what's going on.

What narrative wins, Trump is trying but the Dems are stubborn? Or, Trump is holding the government hostage like a terrorist and Americans do not negotiate with terrorists?

1. I think most Americans sympathize with ppl losing their jobs over something they had no control over.

2. These workers provide a convenience and service to most Americans in certain industries and if this shutdown continues that inconvenience and impact will be widespread.

Medicare for All, 50% student loan forgiveness, 25% increased taxing on the rich for your wall. Take it or leave it. Also put a contingency that he can't shutdown the government again for negotiations. Also tell him he agrees that 5 billion dollar is enough for the wall. No other funds will be given after those 5 billion dollars.

If he agrees, then slow drip the fund and make that wall take 5 years and by then, he will be out of office. Erase his name from the wall at all costs to humiliate him.
