At least 40 percent of Americans, right now, do NOT have $400 in their pocket to pay for an emergency expense.

The average millennial, Gen Xer and Gen Z will die heavily indebted. It will be 2x as hard for us to maintain the standard of living previous generations did.

Wealth inequality has shot through the roof. Wealthy Americans captured 80% of the wealth last year.

Automation will massacre the job market over the next fifteen years. IMPORTANT.

America is $21,000,000,000,000 in debt. And counting.

America will lose its position this upcoming decade as the reserve currency.

Our entire financial system is propped up by debt. We lowered interest rates to nothing and injected a shyt ton of cash into the system to save us last time. Too big to fail banks got bigger and more entrenched. The next crash will be horrific. And there will be a next crash. Our generation has not had a Depression. We didn't have ten to fifteen years of living in straight poverty after the crash. The Fed made sure of that.

WW2 is over. Bretton Woods is over. Other countries have caught up to us, and in the upcoming years we will find out what life is like when we don't have the unfair advantage of being the only first world country to escape war unscathed.

I see scary times ahead for America. Illegal immigrants are not to blame for all these problems, of course. There are a myriad of problems. But I'm not understanding the logic of allowing hundreds of thousands of people to come in each year illegally,when all signs point to shyt hitting the fan in our lifetimes. That's just more mouths to feed, more problems we have to take care of, more people fighting for what resources we have, etc. I don't understand the logic.

The Empire is really dragging down the US, the costs of providing platform for the parasitic rentier class to feed on the rest of the world is unsustainable. The end of dollar hegemony is an opportunity for the US to revive the real economy (big time infrastructure investment, green initiatives, taxing the wealthiest and finance, etc) and this will make it much stronger than it is today...but it won't have an empire.
