this makes him look like even more of a fool. longest shutdown ever and has virtually nothing to show for it. would have been better off lying about it and saying the wall was being built or close to being finished. not like conservatives would care about him telling another lie anyway.

i'm impressed pelosi and the dems didn't cave during his shutdown. this is the kind of guy that will hold hostages to get what he wants instead of real negotiations. sucks the gov workers and contractors got caught up in this though.

next up should be widespread outrage at the sham tax cuts that result in people paying more in taxes for the next decade.

Senate GOP has pretty much forced Trump into having to sign the new deal. If he vetos it, he's finished.

How so? If anything most GOP Senators are scared to death of crossing Trump.

Whether he signs it or not they won't do anything that would cause Trump to say something mean about them on Twitter.

I'm kind of disappointed that the Dems are giving him 1.3b for the wall personally. There's a good chance he just takes that and then declares a national emergency anyway to get the rest. I think they should've just told him "no" on wall money and let the cards fall where they may.

His safety net the first time was Mitch McConnell blocking any of the deals from hitting the floor for vote. McConnell and the rest of the Senate R's took a beating over the last shutdown, they don't want a round 2, which is why McConnell is touting this deal as a good one and encouraging the Senate to speed it through.

They aren't scared of Trump, many of the key R's have already said he should sign this deal and McConnell and others have told Trump that a National Emergency would not get full party support.

The shutdown did not go over well with their constituencies, they gambled, lost and are moving on with or without Trump.
