You could finesse that bachelor degree in Econ. How were your grades?
Not good and I earned it almost 10 years ago. Plus, I want to work towards becoming a CPA and eventually starting my own accounting practice.

Don't regret doing a math degree after not being sure about what I wanted.

Can be applied to pretty much everything

People should only go to college if they know what careers they have in mind and the degrees they will need
I second this motion. A lot of men are getting hip to that thus men enrollment is dropping.

in state tuition at UF and FSU is less than 7k.
you can make that working in the summer, not to mention at least the pell grant (not a loan) if you have financial need.
if you believe that you HAVE TO be in debt to go to school, the yeah, maybe you shouldn't waste space there :mjlol:

I’m getting a second bachelors in accounting after wasting time and money on grad school and a BA in economics. The BA isn’t bad was only, $16k in debt. It was grad schools who bent me over and it has netted nothing but two interviews. :francis:
I had a family friend whose son was a senior in economics from a top 20 institution and they know I worked at a top 5 global company in leadership so they wanted me to talk to him.

I was like, little nikka, you fukked up! You are about to get a degree with a white man and jewish man's industry. What you trying to get, get a doctorate and become a professor teaching about this shyt. He looked at me like I was a ghost. I asked simple questions. Did you get an internship yet? Nope! Any interviews? Nope! Any offers? I didn't get an internship or an interview but I asked. I am like, nikka, there is a reason why HBCUs don't put too much into that shyt. That shyt is dead at arrival for nikkas and you a nikka that's going to a non-HBCU and you expect to get a chance? nikka, you might as well just went to ICDC and called it a day. Devry and ITT Tech would have been a better use of your time. Ideally, you should have gone to HCC. He was looking at me wtf!

I sat him down. The first thing I told him, nothing has changed. No industries cater to Blacks and unless you are in NSBE, you aren't going to get ANY looks at all unless your school has an earmark and as an economist, the professors tell the kids they are targeting behind the scenes about these positions. This is :mjpls:

I asked about his strengths and weaknesses. I knew he was smart but he really had a passion for tech but his true love was the economy. I said, you in a tech hub city. Man, sign up for a bootcamp, learn how to code since I am listening to your mindset, you could be a good coder. He was stubborn at first. You know how nikkas is. He grad from the college and went home with nothing but his degree. Went to bootcamp, got a job making like 60-70k. In no time joined Amazon or Google, shyt, idk and is making bank. We black, unless you Boule or your daddy/momma is some diplomat or wealthy person with influence, you better take your black ass to something that hires us and pays. If he wanted to go into economics, his only options were Hampton and Howard. Otherwise, you just wasting your time. I know Harvard and Yale grads who learned the hard way :mjpls: Being Black is a severe cap where you gotta move like an ant and hope you don't get stomped on.

:mjtf: No, it's not. 21k for UF and 22k for FSU a year. That's not achievable on college-level income unless you on OnlyFans.

College is overrated for a lot of people. Now I say this as someone who did graduate but if you go make sure it’s something useful to you. A lot of people just go to check the box and that’s what I think is wasteful. Some people are better served learning a trade. And some should be going to college but they should consider what they are choosing.

I legitimately chose something I thought I was interested in that I now realize I don’t give a damn about and wish I would of learned something useful and future proof.
I would say it's underrated but it's massively overrated if you don't do it right. It's like dating a thot, you choose wrong, you will look STUPID!

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Didnt read, but if he is saying Men are being able to make good livings without taking on debt, then I dont see the issue. Look at the stats on who is drowning in Student Loan debt and the career fields that group chooses on avg lol

Because, overall, women who don't go to college, regardless of major have significantly less quality of life. Even with student debt they fair better in terms of workload/hours/pay/healthcare/leave.
