Mannnn on what planet do Nas stans live? NOBODY cares about Nas, life is good, or thinks he's goat material at this pt. Dudes been done, irrelevant, finito. They nominated him just because. Anybody who thought he was gonna win is kidding themselves.

What planet do you live on fam? on:heh:

NPR, AOL MTV and the Associated Press had him as winning tonight, so he had mainstream associated press recognition this time it didnt happen but what planet do you live on to think he's still not relevant?

He might be not be selling what he used to (Who does?) but he's out doing arena tours in 2013, Radio Music City Hall now and crossover festivals and had the number 1 album in the country. If you wanted to make an argument a couple of years back about his relevancy sure I would agree with you, but Nas seems to be pretty relevant this time and was on all the best of lists. XXL even gave him the classic rating.

I know Nas stans get a little out of pocket, but I think everyone agrees he was relevant in 2012-2013 because of Life is Good. You probably gloss over rap to think otherwise.

Look man, I downloaded (:smugbiden:) LIG just like every other poster on the coli claimin it to b a classic a week after its release :comeon: I have it many honest listens, n rode around w it in my car for at least a month trying desperately to convince myself that this album lived up to all the hype surrounding it. Truth is, I liked a couple tracks, loved maybe one or two and the rest is very forgettable. I will never have that in rotation again. Now illmatic? IWW? Those r certified classics, I could listen to them back then , now, and in the future. That's what a classic IS, something that stands the test of time. It had to exceed being a good album (all u GKMC hype beasts take note :pacspit:). Also the Grammys r totally political, so of course Drake was gonna win :heh: only an idiot would think otherwise. Same for Jay/Kanye. They're superstars, Nas is just there...yeah he's had longevity n still has a core fanbase, but he's not on their level in terms of superstardom. N as far as tours go, Nas could perform illmatic the rest of his life n book tours he never has to make another album again to do that shyt. Only difference is Someone like say Hova the God will headline Glastonbury or the Barclays Center on NYE while Nas holds down the best buy theater :lolbron: Nas' relevancy is only upheld by the hardcore fans who don't wanna admit he fell off.

But you seem to be confusing your opinion on the album as fact though. Its fine to have that opinion of the album but what I said clearly was the many feel differently than you did, and it wasnt just stans. You've seen the reviews and the talk about it yes? This is not the same as what it was with Untitled. So very clearly the dude is making music of a high quality for enough people in 2012-2013

You do realize Nas has done headlined Wembley Arena, been on main stage at Coachella, Bonnarro, Lollapolloza and is doing the O2 London Arena with his own show (which is actually bigger than Barclays and so far only Drake, Nicki and Jay/Kanye have been the other rap acts to headline their own shows their) in March? And he did Radio Music City Hall. You cant be a dude who has a small internet fanbase if you're doing those type of venues? Thats what I'm trying to explain to you. He's doing major venues 20 years into a career despite what his sales because his longevity has given him superstar status.

:manny: album still ain't classic....I guess the difference is I would actually pay (and have) to see Jay headline and I don't think you could pay ME to c Nas live. His live show is an abomination. I bet if Nas and Drake were on the same bill, Drake would get top billing over Nas too lol. Anyway, back to Life is Good, it's forgettable as hell, anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. In ten years, nobody will b even remember it, much less still b listening to that shyt

Do me a favor and google some reviews of Nas shows recently because in the past 10 years the dude has improved vastly as a live performer. if you were talking 90s Nas I would get it, he was terrible then. But he's actually become one of the better live perfomers in Hip-Hop with a band and DJ Green Lantern blending and mixing stuff and he seems much more alive and animated now.

And I've seen Jay live too and seen his performances and he's very laid back live with his.

I've seen both Jay and Nas live and both were unbelievable.
