How is Drake Hip Hop when he forfeited himself out of that battle with Pusha? These guys need to stop capping for him, they want to be in his good graces for some weird reason. He's an actor turned rapper singer pop star.
Literal legends in Hip hop and you calling them liars? Fam shut yo dumb ass up…

Rappers ain't worth a shyt, the sooner you accept that, the less you're gonna worry about it.

I mean one of the main gatekeepers like krs one couldn't find words to call out pedophiles like bambaata and then other "respectable" rappers admitting they knew about it and didn't do a damn thing.

Most of them have no career outside of rap music, I mean to a lot of them flipping burgers or doing some document work in the office isn't cool when they've been rapping about being fly for a decade or so. Drake has a lot of money, they're thinking by praising Drake they're gonna get something in return. Leechers mentality. Drake has ghostwriters, so who cares what rappers he's battled when he has writers writing him what to rap about.

He’s an offshoot of hip hop but he definitely has real ties to the culture. He couldn’t have taken it this far if he didn’t.

He's a rapper, he makes rap music. IF someone wants to be all hyper specific and say he's not "hip hop" then fine, whatever. But those are the same people who don't think Jay-Z was hip hop in 2001 so...

I don't like Drake generally but he's Hip Hop. He's wack but he's Hip Hop. If you say your music is in the tradition of what Flash, Bam and Herc were doing in the Bronx parks you are Hip Hop. That's all that's needed, it's not that deep. But being wack or being dope is a different story.

But really it's you with all the drug dealer stories
That's gotta stop though
You made a couple chops and now you think you Chapo
If you ask me though you ain't lining the trunk with kilos
You bagging weed watching Pacino with all your nikkas
Like "this what we need to be on, " but you never went live
You middle man in this shyt, boy you was never them guys
I can tell 'cause I look most of you dead in your eyes
And you'll be trying to sell that story for the rest of your lives”

Spanked Push on a track his boss produced :pachaha:

You can be a corny pop star and be hip-hop. Musically, perhaps not, since he's an orchestrated pop star, but he clearly loves the culture, and at least has some of it engrained in him.
