You Gots To Chill is as iconic a single as there is in rap history. The reason you put them ahead is because they were pioneers and came before but sonically better I don't know how they better than EPMD. EPMD also had more longevity.
EPMD released four straight classics breh, Erick Sermon is one of the greatest and most underrated producers ever. Parrish himself is underrated on the mic, but Melle Mel is better than him. Overall, EPMD made better records that's undeniable IMO. EPMD birthed rappers like Redman, K-Solo, Keith Murray, Das-EFX, etc. You know how many artists have Strictly Business as one of their favorite albums of All-Time, you know how many lines were sampled from EPMD?

.The poll should 100% to 0.Not denying EPMD, my point is just there not what Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five were. No that's not the reason I put them first, I would take what we do have from them above what we have from EPMD. It's not always quantity it's quality, if two artists are similar that comes into play but personally to me I view Mel and them as MUCH better. It's the same reason I'd put a Biggie over a Lil Wayne, Wayne has more work and more longevity but it's quality first. That's just on records but as an MC/shows etc it's not close either toe me. I view Mel as one of the greatest of all time, a fan of the others too. You Gots To Chill isn't a The Message level record if were being honest though. If you go down that route you can say how Mel and them inspired pretty much everyone Cold Crush, PE, KRS-One, Treacherous 3, Pac, nearly every good MC in the game owes a huge amount to them.

EPMD don't have a song to me better than The Message or Beatstreet Breakdown. Not even close.

I didn't ever argue albums lol. It's two different eras, what I was saying was song wise F5 have songs which are more monumental, classic, better, impactful, historic, artistic than EMPD.
furious five was the oldest group that made it to the sweet 16.
thats an accomplishment in itself. they came out nearly 4 decades ago, and still made it this far on a message board in 2014. add that to their resume when discussing goat groups.
