Hawks could have signed Bynum this summer if they wanted to go that route. They're trying that Houston/Indiana model, draft well, stay flexible, hope that someone who fits wants out or becomes available due to lux tax issues.

If tanking becomes an option, you can still do it like the Cavs or the Pelicans and sit your best players with phantom injuries.
I just think a player like Horford is the worst type of player to have. He's good enough of a player that he will help keep you as an average team at least and is good enough you wouldn't want to lose him. But at the same time I don't ever see a team being elite with him as your best player. He needs a true star next to him.

In all honesty I'm surprised the Hawks didn't try to get Bynum with the type of offer the Cavs got him for. I would love to see Horford play next to a true center and see how he does at the 4.

Don't worry, I am sure their are Hawks fans who like Bebe more than Noah because he is on their team. Idiots are idiots. Go to the Knicks board, they think Bargs is an All Star.

Hes still developing :skip:

Simmons is a moron. Dion Waiters and Varejao for Pau Gasol? :what:

Cavs didn't draft young talent (whose value only continues to rise) to ship it off to LA for washed up vets.

It goes against the entire philosophy of this Cavs rebuild. They are trying to build a dynasty for the next decade.

Irving/Waiters/Karasev/Bennett/Thompson is the future.
Jalen cosigned it as a fair trade and then Simmons said it might only take Varejao and a pick

#1 pick

It is what it is. The bottom line is the Hawks are probably gonna be average and that's just the way it will be. Them and the Mavs are the prime examples of average so far this season. I don't care either way. I prefer a top 5 pick with a chance at landing Jabari Parker.

The Hawks front office don't/didn't think Bynum was as healthy as he and his agent was alluding.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. As a Laker fan I know they aren't winning a title so I'd rather they completely suck and have a chance at landing one of the potential stars in the draft. What good does being average do in the long run?

I'll reserve judgement until January at least. I think the team has some potential and could end up better than everyone's expects. Wouldn't complain about a high pick either. Just tired of the treadmill, if we end up with the #8 seed :damn:

So today was the Cavs and it sounds like Monday will be the Wizards ("Chocolate City").

I'll take both of those teams over the Bucks to be honest.
