What is a better grappling art for self defense judo or wrestling

Probably wrestling. Judo don't teach you what to do once you go to the ground like that, only how to put another person on the ground.

Brazilian Jui Jitsu is better than Judo, and great to learn in conjunction with wrestling. Granted if you ever need to fight more than one person those types of fighting will get you fukked up.

My homie won judo titles for best junior in my country, a short muscled dude. If you were squaring up with him and he got a hold of you :merchant: it was a wrap.

Since then I respect judo heavy.

Plus generally if you put somebody on the ground it's game over for him.

Judo to my understanding focuses on taking down an opponent. Wrestling focuses on not only taking down an opponent but also getting into a dominant position. So I think wrestling is the better of the two.
