Great income, low bills /debt, but I can't bring myself to pay $40,000+ for a VEHICLE.

I'm sort of in the same boat, I make decent money (although not quite six figures) but I drive a 2015 Civic I'm almost done paying off (and I only pay $250/mo) :yeshrug:

Once that's paid off I might get something else (maybe a truck) but nothing over 20-25k.

New civics are in that price range.

fukk it, I ain't even buying new no more especially for a Civic that can run for 400k miles on the same engine and transmission

Definitely this. Wait for the car chip shortage to subside. Even used cars are overpriced right now.

That said I'm in the high 6 figure category too but I personally can't justify paying more than $200/month for a car

I stay in honda civics and the only time I get car fever is when I see an accord passing me by

I'm still traumatized from paying $430/month for a Jeep Grand Cherokee when I was pulling in $48k a year on top of a $900 rent back in 2005-2007 :flabbynsick:.

You're reminding me of the time I wrote loans and kids were coming in trying to finance used BMWs with $35,000 income:gucci:

I wasn't trying judge too much cause i probably would have did the same thing at that age but cmon lil breh :why:

lmao, I wonder how mans is going to react when he brings the car in for its first oil change

I remember another breh coming to me trying to figure out a way to get out of his BMW loan because the maintenance was killing him. Dude barely had the loan for a year but said he kept having problems with it.

There is only so much you can say as a loan officer without crossing the line, but you really want to tell some people to get a grip. Cars are so much more than its monthly payment.

This is why I will never buy a bmw or benz. I have a VW which is also German-made, I had constant probs and every time it cost a grip to fix it.

I can't imagine paying $80-90000 for something that hits the same pot holes and other concrete devastations as a $15,000 car. I hit a hard bump/pot hole in my Honda a couple days ago and I was mad as f. I can't imagine how I would feel if that happened in my $80,000 benz

I just got a used 2017 Altima with 20,000 miles a few months ago. $240 a month.

fukk all y’all calling it a woman’s car. It was a good price, and low mileage.

I’m in the same boat.

moved to Nola las year (mid city) and sold my car cuz the roads are horrible and I realized I can walk everywhere I need to go.

I’ve been getting the itch for a new car (mustang or camaro), but I just don’t see me paying 35k - 40k for a car that is gonna get trashed.

.

yea my little brother works basic no education no skill type jobs. like valet parking and hardware chain store worker.....and bought a 2012 3 series
didn't consult me or nothing so fukk it. just dumb. I'm thinking "breh a major repair is going cost him like 2 months worth of checks"
i don't care if the car was $12k or whatever it was, no way a person making $15 a hour with rent to pay should be buying german whips :francis:
