Baseball: Albert Belle

Football: Jimmy Smith, Fred Taylor, Zach Thomas, and part of me wants to say Tim Brown since he's never mentioned as one of the greatest wr's

Basketball: Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard is going to the hall of fame. Tim Brown is in the HOF.

Always consistent. I remember when he dropped 57 on the lakers. :wow:

Edit: my bad it was 53. Still :wow:
I still remember that game, that was right at the end of Allan Houston's prime before the knee injuries caught up with him.

Was going to say Melo but I didn't want folks to think that I'm trolling outchea or fishing for daps. Given my history and well, my username :dead: :philjacksonlol:

Prime/healthy STAT was just :wow: :wow: status.

When it was said and done, he could've went down as one of the GOAT big men.

Sports/music fans usually have short term memory like a motherfukker, when you're hot, you're HOT but when you cool down, they're like "ahh fukk him" :mjcry:

I remember when KD won the MVP, the year after when he went down with that injury, no one even voted for him to the All-Star game.... :wow:

Just got love for STAT and always will :wow:

He came here when no one would. He's the main reason Melo came here. He made New York basketball exciting at a time when it wasn't. His work ethic and devotion were impeccable. He wasn't lazy or unmotivated. He never gave up on the team or teammates. You could never question his heart or his dedication to the team. If it wasn't for them damn injuries. If only. If he would've never gotten injured... :wow:

My Knickstape brehs know what it is :salute:

@NY's #1 Draft Pick @storyteller @Zema @Kitsch @Shogun @The War Report @Oso @Mr. Jack Napier @Ironman @GollyImGully @BoogieDown23 @Miles Davis @SJUGrad13 @Youhadasparkwhenustarted @JMurder @I.V. @The II XX @23Stapscity @Pinyapplesuckas @Loose :wow:

Stat was dominant when he was healthy, if he never gets injured I don't think it's a question he goes down as one of the greats if he never gets hurt. It's freakish how quick and athletic he was when he was healthy, and he was just lethal in the pick and roll:wow: I'll always respect his work ethic though :salute: It's a shame we never got to see Melo and Stat get a chance to gel, after Stat developed a post game and Melo became consistent with outside shot, there was a real good inside/outside dynamic there, but health was always an issue with Stat.

Melo still goes down as a top 50 or 60 player of all time, and I think he'll be considered a great, maybe a borderline one though. I will say that I think he underachieved some though. Melo should've been way better as a playmaker and a defender, but his effort kind of came and went if his shot wasn't falling( this was the case in Denver mostly).I just don't think he was challenged enough by anybody in the earlier parts of his career, and he kind of coasted for a while; He really didn't even have a consistent outside jumper until 5 or 6 years into his career, which a shame, because he would've had some even crazier scoring seasons if he had a three ball to compliment his incredible face up game in Denver. I think NY media really helped to challenge Melo, and I feel he's stepped up as a leader the last few years while gradually making his game more dynamic.

I think Melo's career takes a whole different arc if Andre Miller doesn't get traded for Iverson and they wait to try to get the 2 guard they needed, since he'd be forced to develop more as a leader, rather than just follow Iverson or Billups leadership. Still though, Melo has one of the greatest midrange/face up games the NBA has ever seen, and one of the quickest first steps you'll ever see. He'll will go down as one of the most skilled offensive players to step on a court, and arguably the FIBA player in history, and I think all of that means a lot in terms of how his greatness will be perceived.

I'm thinking of guys who were absolute killers in their prime, could be counted on to be the best guy out there.

I'd say Kenny Anderson, Sidney Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Tracy McGrady and Benard King for hoops.

Albert Belle, Johan Santana and Darryl Strawberry for baseball

Bo Jackson, Donovan McNabb, Ronde Barber, Thurman Thomas and Jevon Kearse for football.
