Pretty short interview. But if you look at the podcast in the OP, Neal says the beef started before that. Before Dave left. It started when renewing the 2nd or 3rd season, I'm not sure.

Like they had talks and Dave told Neal, "No, we're not partners". So this was before Dave left for Africa. They are cool now but that's why Neal said they would never work together again at the time.
I seen that, but Dave's version of THAT story differed. And it was AFTER africa according to Dave.
He basically said he just wanted to get away, and there is nothing wrong with going to Africa to do so.
When he got back, Neil was on some "lets get back to it" and Dave basically told him he wasn't with it
Neil kept the pressure, and dave told him "Who the fukk iz you, really" (paraphrasing)

Neil has been living off of Dave's success for a long time, and he started feeling himself. Its common
What has neil done away from Dave? nikka tryna act like he is 50% of the act n shyt :heh:
I'm not saying he is/was worthless. All I'm saying is he wasn't the authority on what Dave did. Dave is
I seen all the outtakes. Dave was using his God given talents to make that show shine. Don't recall Neil in any of those skits that we all know and love. He didn't write all that, then present it to Dave. That would be a lie...

I'd like to see that interview if possible. Sounds interesting. You think u can get a link to it?

And I don't think Neal ever said Chappelle wasn't shyt without him. Just that producers thought he did all the work and comedians thought Dave did all the work. But they were a partnership. He also said in the podcast that he thinks Dave is one of the greatest comedians of all time. I mean, I guess we'll never really know what transpired between them exactly. But apparently their cool again now...

Bill Burr inappropriately laughing at Chappelle skits made Dave regret everything and quit

I have no idea where I seen it honestly. I'm sure it was on here or sohh. And people would just post random videos. I keep thinking Screen Actors Guild but I know that wasn't it. At least I don't think that was the place.
If you haven't seen that interview, you should check it. I'm certain you probably have tho...

Yeah I definitely want to. I don't think I've seen it before.

This is the podcast where everyone is telling Bill Burr he was the one that made Chappelle feel uncomfortable!

It wasn't Inside the Actor's studio? I was pretty sure that's where he said it, but either way I can co-sign that I've seen that interview (pretty much at least). If not, you can probably find bits of it in that fan made 50 million dollar question series...I'ma wind up going back and watching it again since this reminded me of the vid.

I saw this documentary for the 1st time last week. That's what made me wanna watch that Joe Rogan podcast with Neal in the 1st place. They've been releasing each part gradually. I'm waiting for part 7 to come out. Part 6 came out in late November.

I stopped at part 4 bc the gaps between releases were killing me. Great work by that dude though...I'ma listen to every part while I work tom.

As an aside, I think Brennan overrates himself a bit but I've seen some of his stand up bits and you can tell either Dave influenced his material heavily or that he really did have a viewpoint that could fit in with Chappelle. You can also tell though, that Dave is the talent and charisma between the two...Dave's the Pharrell and Brennan is the asian cat. Both are talented but one's a true star and the other dude gets the "is he still around somewhere?" treatment. I watched Dave live in NJ this past year and he KILLED it. I walked out of that 1-hour set convinced that if he's not the GOAT comedian then he at least belongs in everyone's top 3. It's a damned shame he didn't film that ish or that he and Chris Rock can't really go through with a tour like they joked about at the Comedy Cellar.

Yeah, they are taking forever to put each part out.

 @ "The Asian cat." His name is Chad Hugo but yeah that's a great analogy. Dave is the star and Neal plays the background.

But in the OP podcast, Rogan was saying that "Why is he not filming his performances and releasing DVDs"?

I think Dave should. People would pay top dollar, even for a set that's like under an hour long. People would be happy to see him back. There is a few videos of him at the Laugh Factory from like 8 years ago or so and he was still funny as always.

Yeah, I saw that podcast...big fan the JRE in general. It almost felt like Rogan was calling Brennan out on his big talk to me. Dave could put out a dvd just walking around for a day and vibing with people...and blow Kevin Hart numbers out. It's clear though, that he ain't really about that life (dealing with the media and obsessive fans and ish). I wish he'd at least put out comedy albums.
