2004 Patriots are up there too. That defense had multiple HOF caliber players and All-Pros.

Not to mention THE MOST disrespected HB in NFL history in Clock Killin' Corey Dillon.:wow:.

that team had one of the most incredible playoff runs I've ever seen. they held the best offense in the league, Peyton Manning, Edge James, Harrison and Reggie to 3 points :mindblown: this was the season Peyton broke Marinos TD record. they were KILLING teams that year. averaged 32 points a game.3 receivers with over 1000 yards. and pats completely shut them down.

then in the championship game, they played the league's best defense in the steelers and put up 41 points on them :heh:

but that spygate shyt, got me looking at them funny :mjpls: so, I don't give them as much props as I normally would.

@mastermind them 91 slurs lucky Montana was out that season

1996 Packers getting slept. #1 offense, defense and special teams. 2 time MVP Brett Favre, Reggie White and a deep ass WR corps. I think Dallas being upset by Carolina and Denver being upset by JVille.took away some of their luster.

It's tough to rank teams 20 years in the past if a lot of posters are under 30 years old. There have definitely been a lot of great teams though. It's definitely tougher to build a great team now with the free agency era and salary cap era.

they were only 5-3 versus teams over .500

The 1991 Slurs were 7-2 versus teams over .500 and barely lost those two games. (Packers didn lose games that close)

Def the 94 Niners. The Offense and Defense was fukking nuts
they lost to an under .500 Eagles team, at home, 40-8. :camby:

Oh you mean after we had lost 4 olinemen to injury within the span of the first 5 weeks of the season but still went on to go 13-3 and beating the 2 time defending champ Cowboys and completely destroying the Chargers in the SB

tv-one should do an unsung sports series.

the '91 slurs should get an episode

its like they didnt even exist.

They need a 30 for 30, badly. Amazing football team..i miss watching them as a kid. And another thing thats constantly overlooked is how badly they smoked their playoff opposition. Without looking it up, they spanked Atlanta, Detroit and Buffalo. The Superbowl was way more lopsided than the score indicated. They took their foot of the gas. Anothee overlooked fact is the division they reigned over. The defending SB champ, NY Giants, the upstart Cowboys who would go to win 3 out of tbe 4 next Superbowls and an Eagles team which posessed one of the great defenses of all time. All in one division!!!!!
