Man, I'm living debt free for the first time in my adult life (not counting my house but I have a ton of equity in it). Got my student loans paid off this year, car paid off last year and my credit cards paid off this year. Damn thing is when you have all that money back in your pocket, it's like you have a demon on your back trying to get you to turn around and get back into debt for some shyt you don't even need.:francis:

Every day is like a struggle against greed to stop myself from going out and just pissing it all away. If I can stop myself from thinking that way about shyt I've been thirsting for, I could get smart with my money but damn :francis:

I got more respect for those dudes just driving the same old beater car and stacking paper every paycheck

You aint lying breh. I drive for a living and the longer im on the road, the more i get paid, but my health is taking a hit and sitting down all day isnt good for my back neither. For some reason, i can’t seem to be satisfied (im debt free, good credit, bankroll). Running up the numbers in my bank account is a thrill within itself.

Word! Not debt free, want to be, and I’m starting to loath the idea of having a good credit score. All it means is that you borrow money and pay it back; totally goes against the idea of being debt free and makes you over spend. I’m really aiming for a cash/debit only existence.

That’s what got me. I cleaned up my credit and when you do they just GIVE you as much as you want. I had $50K of credit limits at one point. They want to keep people with means in perpetual debt.

And they don’t have to do too much convincing either. I was apart of this Facebook group called “The broke black girl” and it was mad questions on a regular about borrowing their way to a good credit score. Some People with already shyt credit trying to figure out how to borrow some more. The focus was more on getting a good credit score instead of developing financial habits that keep you out of debt. I ended up leaving the group because my end goals don’t align with that.
