very risky especially being a big man can just tear your acl etc.

Big men will always get deals. Greg Oden is still getting signed and Bynum got a 2/$12 million deal last year and he can barely walk.

He'll be traded before he hits the unrestricted market.

The QO gives the player a no-trade clause. He's not going anywhere unless it's a hand picked destination.

SVG is gonna have to work miracles to get something out of this roster now that Monroe is back. Either he plays that failed front line again or he benches Monroe/Smith and deals with the headaches they cause from it.

Shame because I think SVG is sitting on what could be a top 5 SG combination in KCP and Dinwiddie.

Remove the Smith /Jennings signings and then everyone would look at their talent and bank on them being rock solid contenders soon. Crazy.

You're saying if Joe D doesnt sign Jennings and Smith...they'd have tons of cap flexibility, a top 5 pick this past summer and extended Moose to a 5 year max?

:whoa: I didn't say all that, but I think more people would look at the Pistons and be like :gladbron: this squad got a great future ahead of them.

Whoever picks him up for a high price will be making a grave mistake IMO. He's in the same boat as guys like David Lee and Al Horford. Good but will never truly be an elite player.

Bledsoe and Monroe are in two very different situations. Monroe hates Detroit and wants out ASAP. Bledsoe and his agent thought they could pressure the Suns into a max - figuring that Hayward got a max, he should too. Gambled and lost.

Nah, there are similarities. Both agents overvalued their players. They thought they would easily get max offers in FA or at least would be able to work out a sign and trade. Both agents didn't realize the teams have all the leverage in RFA

Jr Smith for Monroe

Salary wise this could happen. On the flip Monroe has no reason to agree to a trade save for the sake of leaving.

Monroe will be expensive too though, probably not huge cost savings from Gasol

Gasol is plan A but if Plan B happens here is to hoping Monroe gets no minutes and would except like $12 million a year which is what the knicks would have if they kept shump and Jr's bird rights on the books prior to signing him.

I'm questioning Stan Van Gundy's sanity right now. I would have let the Kings take Josh Smith for whatever and no way in hell would I have let Monroe sign a qualifying offer. its 100% guaranteed Monroe is gone after this season and the Pistons get nothing for him. You're not gonna compete for a guy in the free agent market you could have signed now for what he wanted.

He WILL get traded bruh, I seriously doubt he is a Piston by the end of this season. He is a solid big, with an injury or a bad start for some teams he will be on their radar. They can possibly end up making a big move sometime this season.
