Greg Oden was held out of practice on Wednesday with swelling in his left knee.

Oden participated in his first five-on-five workout on Monday and even blocked a shot by LeBron James.

There had been hope of Oden appearing in a preseason game, but that appears unlikely now.

The Miami Heat and Oden have been reluctant to establish a timetable.

"This has been three years for me, as long as it's no surgery, it's OK," said Oden. "This is going to be a long season, I'm going to get there.
