I think the foundation of the Spurs will allow the team to always be in contention...

man, everyone in san antonio has been known that i remember an interview back in 2007 when they last won the championship and he was asked how long he saw himself coaching and he said, when Duncan retires, he will step down as a coach. Rumor has it that Duncan will retire after next season

ya thats my coach :sadbron:

the assistant coach seems pretty good though and he stayed when he could of left so im sure he will take over

i know he will make kawhi a main focal point cuz him and pop are high on him with parker leading the way too groom to take over later down the line

spurs will probably be like denver when pop is done maybe a denver lite cuz coach karl is a good coach with the new coach still getting his feet wet

contention for a championship...hell naw and this is coming from the biggest SPURS fan, once Timmy and Pop leave, they will be like a 7th or 8th seed for the next couple seasons after that, but more than likely wont be a championship caliber team unless they hit gold for the 3rd time

It makes sense. He named himself coach in 1996-97, last lottery season the Spurs had. They won the lottery and drafted Duncan. I'm sure he doesn't want to rebuild after putting so many years of 50 win seasons

Damn shame. You already know he's just moving back into the front office with RC and grooming a successor from there.

We should have an official :trollingpop: and :trollingtimmy: smiley when it happens.

I feel like this is going to be the precursor to what happens to the Pats when Beli leaves.
