Griselda is one of the wackest and corniest collective of rappers I've ever heard

I can only tolerate a little bit of WSG, but Conway and Benny spit that sh*t when they're on and the beat is nice.

Y'all ready for an uncomfortable discussion?

I think they're so praised because they give hope to 35+ year old nikkas that are living vicariously through them
they get praised because they make a style of music that so many people wish was back in style (and are frustrated that younger artists actually from the city don't make it).

Right now, nobody's fukkin with Rome Streetz on the mic. Boldy makes very good cohesive projects with one producer.

Conway is very hit or miss now. At his best he's awesome but when he's trash, he's a 4th grade mad libs book.

Westside has a great ear for projects (nobody listens to him for his bars) but he has to leave trap alone. He's not good at it.

As much as I wanna hear a proper Stove God solo, I almost feel like he's the OT Genasis of Griselda. Great in doses and in guest spots, but an entire album of him might kill how we view him.

Armani isn't bad but she sounds like a direct derivative of her influences which makes her look generic as fukk. I'd still hit it raw though.

Benny is in a weird spot. I don't think he's fallen off but there definitely appears to be a ceiling to what he can do.

and their in-house production team is fire. Wait til Denny and Camouflage get the big time placements Conductor has gotten.

If Griselda sucks to people, so be it. But please don't be the same one who will whine in another thread talkin bout needing someone from NY to restore the feeling or "bringing the sound back" or whatever.

Blu has more talent that Griselda combined.
Staples atually has varied subject matter, Griselda not so much.
And maybe they were better than Dave East at one time but he has released stronger projects more recently. And if he's trash well then what's Griselda nowadays .
I generally fukks with Dave, but he defines hit or miss.

The joint with Cruch was nice. The joint with Scram was nice. Apt. 6E for the most part sucked.

And he's way too young to have a voice that sounds like he's a pack away from needing that machine you gotta put to your throat to talk.

When Dave East sucks, his bars are Conway level bad.

Cassidy and JR still around and still rap and their shyt is laughably dated, wack, and corny

Those run of the mill 2000s mixtape rappers could spit but they couldn’t create artful projects
ehhh I wouldn't say that about JR necessarily. His Zeus era of tapes has sounded pretty good (maybe I'm judging on a curve because he's the only Dipset related guy still dropping decent stuff other than Capo).

They're not the worst but they're overrated as fukk. I also hear Benny the Butcher's dad is a cop, just like Freddie Gibbs'.

What I don't understand is why 90% of Griselda's fanbase don't fukk with the rest of the underground boom bap scene, including its mainstays?? The only reason Griselda is so big is because of Eminem shining the spotlight on them.

Sometimes you'll go on a YT video of an Estee Nack or Eto and you'll find some comments saying they copying Griselda. :snoop:

Roc Marciano created the sound but Griselda expanded it. When I was listening to underground mix shows of around 2010-2014. Roc Marciano wasn’t that influential, he was just another rapper. If you listen to Éto, Ransom back then, their sound was a continuation of the post 2008 boombap. I listened to Tragic Allies(Ester first group). he switched to the Griselda wave around 2016. 38 Spesh album “Son of G. Rap” is boom bap but afterward he got into the Griselda sound. Benny was a bit on trap shyt, then linked up with 38 Spesh before him being signed on Griselda. Still his sound was not was we consider Griselda.

I f*ck with Griselda heavy.

Pretty much since day one. I love street sh*t, dope lyrics and boom bap. So they're easily my favorite collective to pop up in mad years. Production is always dope, I like what WSG does, and as I've said on here a million times, Conway is the best MC lyrically out right now. So I'm loving the run, and always make sure to support the projects. This is the kinda sh*t I like hearing, when I'm looking for that grimy vibe.
