Now that Rudy Gay is off the books, the Grizzlies can sign a couple of shooters with the Mid Level Exception this offseason, re-sign Tony Allen, and still be under the luxury tax threshold.

Rudy Gay was a brick layer that disrupted the flow of the Grizzlies offense. Not to mention that he wasn't very good defensively. Prince at least maintains the flow of the offense and is a better defender.

Ellington was a bigger loss to the Griz imo b/c he is another good outside spot up shooter that the Griz bigs can pass out to on the perimeter. Ellington reminds me of like Anthony Parker. His role is more needed in these series then a ball dominant Rudy Gay.

I think if they still had mayo to shoot the three when they need it the series would be 1-1 right now, they miss him more then :rudy:

Mayo shot 29 percent from 3 in the playoffs just last year and 27 percent from the field
