They don’t fix problems at all. How many years now have they not prioritized guys who can hit with men on or string hits together? They haven’t had a permanent leadoff man since 2012 Derek Jeter. The 2021 squad had 2 guys hit above .268 and their response was the Josh Donaldson trade. The 2022 squad had 1 guy hit above .261 or post even a .340 OBP and their only move for the batting order was promoting Volpe. They let Torres walk and decided that Oswaldo Cabrera could be a full time hitter in his place with a career .233/.291/.352 triple slash and an OPS+ of 80 coming into the season. Gleyber has a .298/.355/.476 triple slash on the year. Always making the wrong moves.

the Yankees for whatever reason don't believe in continuity unless you have a major price tag attached to you.
Even in 98 when the Yankees had multiple guys killing it, starters or bench, the lineup was generally the same. The only thing they've committed to Judge needs to remain 2nd and Grisham leads off when he plays (can't argue the results for him so far). The issue with that is apparently when a lineup is ultra consistent, the nerds have nothing to do, so they can't mix and match and do whatever they want.
