Gil also missed 2 whole seasons from Tommy John surgery.
So did Rodon and Yankees fans still wanted to give him the bag.

If the idea is that we shouldn't have anyone because they get hurt, good luck because the entire rotation outside of Stroman is injury prone and that includes the 2 starters combining to make half a billion. The Dodgers know none of their guys can stay healthy, so they have 10 of them hoping 5 of them can stay healthy at once. The #1 pitcher we're gonna beg Cashman for next winter is gonna be King who was always hurt here and now he's an ace.

I wasn’t crazy about signing Rodon given how badly they needed hitting. He’s was the only free agent they signed that winter despite nobody outside of Judge hitting above .261 or posting an OBP higher than .338 so my stance was that they wasted the money and even more so considering that it’s the same years and dollar amount that the dodgers gave to Freddie Freeman. My opinion here was more that they had depth at pitching but none in the batting order so they needed to make a big move to fix the batting order so teams can’t pitch around Judge.

their starting pitching depth now is really shallow between Gil being hurt, Stroman being ineffective, and Hampton getting TJ. They're really close to having to bank on Warren to give them solid innings.
