Dominguez has almost 500 career ABs at the Major League level.

It hasn’t been consistent. But he’s approaching a make-or-break moment for his career.

Here’s the bad news: usually the best prospects absolutely MASH in the Minors, even if they struggle early in their Major League careers.

But Jasson posted a respectable .816 OPS in the minors. Not exactly lighting the world on fire. It’s not like he was even on Brandon Wood’s level where you could give him a really long leash.

As best I can tell so far, the only redeeming qualities for Jasson Dominguez are
1) high exit velocity
2) he’s a switch hitter

But he doesn’t hit for average.
His exit velocity hasn’t translated to HRs.
He isn’t a good defender.

If the Yankees really feel he needs to play every day, then what the hell is he doing in the Bronx? Send him to AAA. Stashing him on the bench seems like they’re trying to hide his flaws or lack of development to other teams.

As much as people don't want to admit it, he's a project, and a few games of winter ball isn't gonna change that. Hell, he's DH'd a few games already, and he's been taken out for defensive purposes, so obviously the coaches are seeing the same thing the Yankees are.

If he's still on the team come February, then he needs to really earn his spot on the team
