My previous car died early fall of 2019 so I bought used/certified around then at a decent price and the miles are still low from it sitting so much from Covid.

Can’t imagine $1000 a month

Thats lack of common sense, america needs financial literacy to be taught to its citizens from as low as elementary school, pay 1000 monthly on a depreciating asset with wear and tear isn't smart at all

I was looking at pickup trucks a couple years ago and when I was test driving one the salesman said folks were paying $1200 a month for some used ones. I said that's a damn rent payment

I got myself a used nice Cadillac and only paying $219 a month and will be paid off in December…

Many people who paying $1000 a month are probably the same people with other high expenses and struggling paying them but competition and clout is a disease

Or how about they just like them? People are in their car’s every day, some spend hours in them. They can be fun to drive and relaxing hell fOr me it’s the only tIme I have too myself most the time.

Fair but that's glass half full thinking. There are only a few (very few) cities where people can get around just on public transportation only. Everywhere else you'll need a car to get around.
