Buying a whole beater and having random 4 figure repair bill, on a constant basis, basically defeats the purpose of purchasing it in the first place.

Of course. Which is why people buy new to begin with (not including people keeping up the joneses).

More likely than not buying a beater means buying someone else’s problem or poor treatment of the vehicle. Me personally I’ve had good luck buying beaters but I know folks who couldn’t catch a break buying one.

For some people you can’t put a price on peace of mind and a warranty.

A lot of these cars are under $30K, some smaller sedans under $20K, and these Hondas and Toyotas will run well over 200K+ miles.

These Western companies wanted access to the Chinese market so bad. They gave away all their intellectual property to do business there. Now their being forced out of the Chinese market and everywhere else.

A blind person could see this was gonna happen. Now they're running to the Government begging to be saved with tariffs. I'm not sure why they thought China would stop at just being their source of cheap labor and materials. And wouldn't have bigger plans.

I never even thought about them. My grandma left it to my cousin when she died, and he just got him a new BMW so he gave it to me. I like it though. It has a lot of room, good on gas and it’s reliable. It has almost no miles on it, so I’ll be driving it forever.
