I've always said I couldn't imagine growing up in any other city. Funny thing is, I've lived in NYC all my life & I've never been to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building

80s was some shyt. Waking up to empty crack vials all over the place in front of the crib, fiends out there trying to snatch up kids, graffiti everywhere, needles in payphone coin slots

Base heads & prostitutes in the stairwell of your building. Stepping over homeless people sleeping trying to go upstairs.

But my Elementry/Middle and HS didn't have people of every race, it always mostly blacks and latinos for me

But people in other regions, don't feel bad, if you lived in the hood it got rough some times, stick up kids, gang hordes, etc. Luckily I never took no major L's to those situations though.


I'm sure southern nikkas live nicer than nikkas in Far Rock, if you ever wanted visuals to an Mobb Deep album or IWW, just visit that place

I feel bad for our suburban fam that had to grow up & go to school with mostly cacs. I wouldn't trade growing up in NYC & going to school with predominantly Black people for anything.
