You know very well we ain't learning how to do shyt. Games are fun. Fun is good no matter your age. That's all that needs to be said. Old folks played checkers and cards back in the day, our generation plays video games.

and the next generations will probably be living it out in some virtual reality chamber.. half-life type shyt

there will always be something .

You talking bout leap frog or some shyt? I'm talking now, we already grown, you ain't learning shyt from these video games. And I don't play FPS or sports sims, mostly platformers and RPGs, but again, I don't need to justify playing games as a learning experience, I play them for fun. There ain't nothing wrong with having fun.

as a grown man you tend to have more responsibilities and your times of relaxation are limited. So in that time you can read a book, watch a movie, play a video game, go to the theatre with your girlfriend, work on something productive thats different from your current career maybe focus on an added skill, make that business plan,

any one of those is acceptable at any moment as long as you have a stable job, career, or career track with goals your working on. But if you aren't doing anything productive and all you do is play videogames then yeah thats emasculating

nah not leap frog though just "regular" games that were normally way too difficult for younger children because of the level of comprehension needed to play them with intentions on beating them especially, any reason to play them is a justification imo but i know plenty of people right now who cant play games because they seem to lack the intelligence and patience to and they are grown lol no bs

What era did you grow up, cause I was 8 bit/16 bit and all you had to do for the most part was run, jump, shoot and make it to the end or past the boss. Not too much comprehension needed, just familiarity with the game

When the vast majority of your free time is spent playing games as a grown man, then you definitely lost. Its one thing to be a child and play videogames to escape the monotony of school, chores, and homework, but if your spending hours upon hours playing games as a grown man, ignorning family responsibilities, work duties, or your spousal duties then yes, you aren't shyt.

The exact same thing applies to internet, facebook, TV, and other non productive time wasters as well.

Of course, but that's not what the thread title says. It simply says "grown men playing games", it doesn't say "playing video games all day"

dang breh you over simplifying how games are though, nearly ALL games are run jump shoot and make it to the end though lol there are games from each generation that fit that definition

edit: just being familiar with something doesnt mean you know how to do it and you know it :wtb:

Breh, I just don't see how you said you was learning shyt from video games. I always been good at video games and I know people who flat out suck but that don't mean shyt other than that I was good at video games. I seriously can't think of anytime I have applied something I learnt in a video game to anything outside of the game.

And I have educational games right now for my kids, but the games I play ain't teaching me shyt

well i surely cant tell you what you learned or didnt because im not you but if you want more perspective try letting your kids play if you dont mind them doing so of course some hard rpg with the difficulty up that has puzzle challenge aspects in it like figuring out what to do next without being told in order to progress further(critical thinking)

you honestly probably just see it as being good at games because they are easy to you since you possess that level of intelligence, but these games do require more than just mashing buttons, they are made by very smart adults who make them hard for themselves to play let alone anybody else

People's grandfather could spend all day putting together a minature boat, car or play golf all day or a host of other hobbies they adopted during childhood but nobody would dare question them.

Yet when it comes to video games...

'sgust.

EDIT: I would bet any money that 9 times out of 10 those same people shytting on Video Games are playing Candy Crush all day in the middle of their responsibilities.

They'd be depressed if they got a tally of their calculated hours playing that game...
