If San Andreas, Vice City stories etc is so much better...then play that.:ehh:

Nobody is seriously playing SA/VC stories etc like that in 2014...it was dope when they came out but compared to GTA V, the mechanics can't even compete....you 'back in the day was better' clowns stay nerding it up on the internet:bryan:

Hate it to say, GTAV is not the best GTA series. The storylines is pretty good but I don't see Frankin related to that story, he pretty much ties up in Michael and Trevor's story. Frankin needs to have his own missions story. Trevor is the only memorable character, imo. that he has truly GTA "Not give a f*ck".

I agree with you on not getting any money from missions. Online was such fun but now it's pretty much dead to me

Imo, Sleeping Dogs>>>GTAV

I enjoyed the singleplayer for what it was, but I also agree with everything said by OP.

Especially the thing about only making money of two of the six heists, adding that you're also barely making any money from regular missions, meant that for pretty much the entire game you had almost no cash to spend.

Also, the concept of your heist crew getting better if you use them more is laughable. You have only six heists, and half the time you can pick only one or two members at most, and there's never any reason to pick a lesser skilled member for a lower fee because they'll always make you lose more money than you'd lose on picking a higher skilled member.

Also, how is Three Leaf Clover from GTA IV a better heist mission than half the heists in this game?

And the antagonists definitely were the worst in GTA history. Up until the point that he sends those commandos out to kill Michael's family (as a reaction to Michael getting his female assistant killed) Devin's biggest crime was not paying Michael, Trevor and Franklin for stealing those cars. That's the 'big' villain?!

Steve Haines was also lame as fukk and never came across as a serious threat, the Chinese who were at war with Trevor were missing for half the game (The Lost would've made better antagonists) and Stretch only appears in one mission (!) at the start at the game, only to be awkwardly forced into the final mission as Franklin's 'antagonist'.
Good points... A few things though...

There were about 3 heists for each member to really make some good money... Jewel store, bank, union depository... And a ton of things to do around the map. There is no reason to be flat broke in the game if you are doing it right.

Franklin had the Lester missions which should make you multi millionaires for the second half of the game :manny:

Then with Trevor, you get 62k after finishing that opening sequence so he starts out caked up. Not to mention dude can get about 30k just lurking in the desert from random events. And then his bounty hunter missions. There really is no reason to go broke in this game, in fact, you should be caking with all three of them if you take your time and doing little things like getting free armor at the police stations instead of buying armor.

For the crew team level ups... That works but you need to use the side guys like chef, Packie, and the life invader hacker... They have lower cut% and they are just good enough to not lose you any money and their skills build.

I especially agree with Steve Haines being a lame nemesis... However most of the stuff you listd in he last paragraph is DLC material. I fully expect them to make a Chinese triad, gang, biker DLC.. There are a few stories to tell. I hope for biker DLC, because while lost and damned was fun, I always feel like biker stuff is more suited for west coast...

i think it was the best of the series. It was easy to make money even when not doing heists. Thing is you kind of had to be a bit brainy. You had to realize when lester was sending you to hit people he was fukking with the stock market and you were supposed to pay attention and make money off that, if you didn't have a few million for each character after the first heist you just suck and are a dummy. The ultimate thing was to save the 3 lester hit missions until the last heist is over, go back to lester as franklin and do the hits while rigging the stock market with millions. Invest with everybody, do the hit cash out. The city was lively as fuk. There was "hoods" everywhere. There is grove st. and other gangs in ls, there is manson family type ranches throughout the forest areas that are like grove street and dudes will attack you. There is biker gangs etc.

The animation and physics were on point. The customization wasn't the greatest but it was better than gta 4 which had zero customization. The clothes are decent. The online is great they just fukked up the release and blew the hype. If the online was released last year perfect, with the mission creator etc. it would have went down as top console online game for this gen, better yet if it was released around max payne 3 it would be the top online game. The idea to add special abilities was a good idea. The only serious downside was the fighting.

It's the most polished game too there was very little bugs in the game.
