i think he is an associate to grove, but he sees lamar, and his friends and grove street keeping him there landlocked. and he has higher ambitions and aspirations for the paper, so when he meets with michael, michael sees potential in him.. because of frank's driving skills and recruits him and then introduces him to trevor
